Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Senior Information Technology Business Analyst in Los Angeles. You will bridge IT and business, gathering requirements and shaping budgets for finance systems like Questica and Oracle E-Business Suite.

You will analyze processes, document needs, and guide projects from planning through implementation, ensuring solutions meet stakeholder goals and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with six years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with four years of relevant experience; or two years in MWD IT BA III.
• Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, process analysis and improvement, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and translating business needs into effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document business requirements, user needs, and system objectives.
• Conduct business process analysis to identify challenges, improvement opportunities, and solutions involving technology, workflow enhancements, and policy or procedural changes.
• Develop business cases, user requirement documents, functional specifications, and other system documentation to support application development and implementation.
• Evaluate and validate proposed technology solutions to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs, organizational goals, and business processes.
• Acts as the Project Manager, plans coordinators includes monitoring scope, budget and schedule.
• Provide strategic guidance during systems planning, design, development, testing, and implementation activities to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.
