Job summary

Alta Equipment Group in Avon, OH is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage purchasing and physical inventory flow at the Avon branch. You will ensure accuracy, support procurement and accounting teams, and drive continuous improvements in inventory processes.

You will forecast needs, monitor levels, oversee shipping/receiving, and maintain ERP data with strong analytical reporting. Strong communication and independent work capability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School or equivalent degree.
• An Associate degree or technical certifications are preferred.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Operations, or Logistics is preferred.
• Two to four years of work experience with strong performance and reliability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound planning, organizing, and execution skills.
• Computer savvy with MS Word and Excel; ability to learn other programs.
• Ability to work independently with varying levels of supervision.
• ERP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecast inventory needs and order parts to maintain optimal levels.
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand, and apply management strategies.
• Oversee day-to-day shipping and receiving operations.
• Manage cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or high-demand items and recommend actions.
• Maintain accurate locations, item data, and ERP stocking parameters.
• Track inventory metrics: accuracy, turns, stockouts, fill rate, excess.
• Stay aware of market trends, prices, and delivery conditions.
