Job summary

Hollingsworth LLC is seeking an Inventory & Material Planning Specialist to coordinate demand, scheduling, and material availability to support shipping-into-production. You will work with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to minimize shortages and ensure timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have experience in material planning, ERP/MRP systems, and strong communication. The role requires attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to escalate issues before they impact delivery and

Qualifications

Experience in material planning, production control, traffic management, or inventory control.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems, Traffic Management Systems (TMS) or customer portals.
Comfortable using Excel, Teams and Outlook, and participating in customer calls.
Experience expediting materials, resolving shortages or coordinating shipment priorities.
Strong communication, organization, follow-up, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate with suppliers, internal departments, customers, and carriers quickly to changes or urgent shortages.
Basic math and data review skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Review customer portals, releases, quarterly forecasts, current-day schedules, and documentation to understand demand, schedule priorities, and order requirements.
Compare demand against inventory, open orders, supplier commitments, safety stock, and production needs to identify shortages or risks.
Monitor email and customer channels; respond with accurate information and follow-through.
Coordinate with suppliers to confirm material availability, delivery dates, and expedite shortages.
Communicate demand changes, delivery requirements, shortage risks, and recovery actions to stakeholders.
Support shipping-into-production by coordinating material availability, shipment priorities, and documentation.
Maintain accurate program records, system data, inventory information, shortage tracking, and supplier updates.
Collaborate with Purchasing, Receiving, Accounts Payable, Quality, Operations, and suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
Participate in customer calls and cross-functional meetings to provide updates and support issue resolution.
Support supplier performance tracking and continuous-improvement activities related to material flow and inventory accuracy.
