Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of relevant medical office experience and basic understanding of billing processes.
• Practical knowledge of payer specific rules and regulations, including Medicaid and Medicare.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated experience in counseling, analysis, teamwork, and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Obtain prior authorizations and ensure timely approvals.
• Update charts with accurate copay information before scheduling.
• Assist clients with Medicaid applications and other insurance benefits.
• Provide financial counseling regarding obligations and payment arrangements.
• Record information in the EHR to support proper billing.
• Monitor overdue accounts and initiate collections when needed.
• Deliver exemplary customer service while adhering to payment policies.
