Job summary

UIC seeks an Institutional Research Analyst to conduct and coordinate campus-level research in areas of institutional effectiveness and strategic planning. The role develops, conducts, and analyzes data for decision making in retention, enrollment, budgeting, and benchmarking focused on higher education.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in statistics, psychology, or education with two years’ research experience in higher education and proficiency in SPSS or SAS and database queries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, psychology, education, or related discipline.
• Two years' experience conducting education or social science research in a higher education setting.
• Proficiency with SPSS or SAS and database query reporting tools.
• Experience in institutional research methodology, needs assessment, strategic planning, data collection and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evidence-based research and measurement studies to determine or change policies, curricula, or student support services.
• Design research strategies and gather information using institutional ERPs, databases, the Internet, government agencies, and external sources.
• Organize and execute research projects, improving research design and data validity.
• Develop and carry out sound methods to investigate institutional effectiveness.
• Apply quantitative methods to forecasting and analysis, interpret results, and document findings.
• Increase analytical outputs to support evaluation and adoption of institutional policies.
