Job summary

Appalachian State University seeks an Institutional Research Analyst to join the Strategic Analytics & Institutional Research team within IRAP. The role focuses on managing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting data for internal and external stakeholders, including UNC System Office DataMart, IPEDS, and external surveys.

You will collaborate with university contacts, system offices, and external partners to ensure data accuracy, timely submissions, and successful data projects across campus.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of reporting requirements, institutional data, data definitions, processes, and key stakeholders to support data and reporting needs and deliver accurate, reliable data analysis.
• Serve as primary data coordinator for UNC System Office Student DataMart, external reporting, and rankings, ensuring timely submission of data while maintaining accuracy.
• Support reporting and analysis needs of IRAP and campus stakeholders, including routine and ad-hoc data requests and related summaries/reports.
• Conduct data analysis and produce reports that accurately aggregate, summarize, and convey student, curriculum, employee, and other institutional data.
• Respond to federal/state reporting, rankings, and other study needs throughout the year.
