Job summary

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking a Strategy and Innovation Officer to help develop and deliver strategic plans and policies, embedding best practice and community-led approaches.

The role supports collaboration with local people, provides strategic advice to senior managers, and drives performance across corporate strategies. Flexible working from home and offices in Chester and Winsford are available.

• Experience in developing strategies and policy.
• Experience in engaging with communities and promoting community-led working.

Responsibilities

• Play a key part in shaping the Council’s approach to priority strategic issues, ensuring alignment to corporate objectives and community-led initiatives.
• Be open to ideas from local communities, and help realise those ideas.
• Manage the provision of strategic advice and support to senior managers in development, implementation and performance management of corporate strategies and action plans.
• Conduct regular reviews of operational and strategic performance against key measures, targets, actions and milestones.
• Undertake service reviews, special investigations and projects.
• Support evidence and insight-led decision making with robust data and insights.
• Manage multiple work programmes under pressure.
• Contribute to the production of high-quality briefing material, research and strategy advice.
