Ideal candidate has 3+ years in inland marine or commercial property underwriting, Bachelor's degree preferred, and strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills. CPCU/AU/ARM a plus; MS Office and underwriting systems proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of inland marine or commercial property underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of inland marine coverages, exposures, and rating methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to build agent/broker relationships and drive profitable growth.
• CPCU, AU, ARM, or other related insurance designations are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting/rating systems.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, rate, and quote inland marine business for new and renewal accounts.
• Analyze exposures, financials, and loss history to assess risk and pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong agent/broker relationships to drive new business and renewals.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and loss control teams on solutions.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with producers.
• Stay updated on inland marine market trends and regulatory changes.
• Conduct field visits to assess exposures and gather market intelligence.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation for all accounts.
