Job summary

Focus Financial Partners seeks a Strategic Initiatives Lead to join its internal strategy and transformation team. You will handle analytical and presentation work while executives focus on strategic decisions, stakeholder management, and directing the team.

The role requires 2+ years in finance/consulting and a finance-related degree, with MBA/CFA preferred. You will build models, drive cross-functional initiatives, and contribute to Focus’s AI strategy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate strategy at a financial services firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related discipline.
• Experience with M&A, strategy and growth and AI.
• MBA or CFA in progress or completed (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to build structured work products—models, memos, slide decks—independently and under time pressure.
• Experience with fast-paced environments and senior stakeholder exposure.
• Exceptional financial modeling and Excel skills—built from scratch.
• Strong structured communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own individual workstreams within the AI Strategy Program and other cross-functional initiatives; structure work, drive decisions, and deliver outputs on timeline.
• Build and maintain the operating infrastructure for complex projects: trackers, logs, governance, and meeting rhythms.
• Triage requests across the portfolio; keep the team focused on high-leverage work.
• Build financial models, business cases, and ROI frameworks; synthesize findings into executive summaries.
• Support initiative tracking and KPI dashboards linking priorities to outcomes.
• Prepare board materials and executive presentations; ensure quality of narrative and numbers.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and align stakeholders.
• Translate ambiguity into crisp problem statements and structured options.
