Job summary

Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to translate the college’s Vision 2030 into practical roadmaps. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership in operations, strategy, or enterprise-level project management.
• Experience within higher education, workforce development, or public sector environments.
• Expertise with Microsoft productivity tools and AI tools; experience with Ad Astra, EAB Navigate, SIS PeopleSoft, and WES.
• Ability to distill highly complex topics into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
• Experience with regional accreditation activities (SACSCOC) preferred.
• Experience using performance data to drive enrollment and credential attainment.
• Experience providing leadership for faculty development and online program quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of senior-level initiatives in direct partnership with the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
• Translate priorities into actionable roadmaps and track outcomes from scoping through reviews.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and expanded service lines through strategic research.
• Develop resource allocation frameworks prioritizing investments with highest impact.
• Provide leadership for the Dean of OPLS, Director of Institutional Effectiveness, and the Center for Teaching and Learning.
• Align divisional strategy, resource decisions, and annual work plans with Vision 2030 and Accelerate Opportunity 2030 goals.
• Lead high-stakes cross-functional projects with executive alignment and accountability structures.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates or corrective actions to executive leadership.
• Oversee collection, synthesis, and reporting of institutional data to support planning and decision-making.
• Lead accreditation-related activities and ensure continuous compliance with standards.
