Job summary

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation seeks a Senior Impact Officer for Strategic Initiatives to translate strategic priorities into coordinated action across grantmaking pillars like College Access, Workforce & Career Development, and Entrepreneurship.

Based in Kansas City, MO, you will collaborate with Impact Team colleagues to strengthen structure, accountability, and coherence while driving high-impact learning and a proactive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, liberal arts, or related area preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• At least five years’ experience coordinating projects and building team systems and processes.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build communication and collaboration infrastructure across the three strategic pillars; facilitate shared learning, peer support, and knowledge transfer (especially during staff transitions).
• Serve as Impact Team liaison to the Uncommon Leader Awards work group.
• Work closely with the SDSI to ensure coherence across all grant pathways and to effectively communicate alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strengthen team decision-making and alignment across all shared grantmaking processes; surface risks or decisions needing leadership attention.
• Support change management and continuous improvement by helping with adoption of new tools and processes while identifying workflow gaps.
• Provide strategic sensemaking on cross-cutting issues by pulling together internal and external perspectives and translating into implications and recommendations.
• Develop productive relationships with internal teams and external partners, reviewers, consultants, and community stakeholders.
