Job summary

R&K Solutions in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Information Security and IT Operations Manager to lead our security program while supervising day-to-day IT operations. You will oversee staff, coordinate risk-aware initiatives, and align IT services with business needs.

Responsibilities include policy development, compliance with NIST and DoD frameworks, incident response, vendor management, and ensuring reliable, secure systems across cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years' experience in IT operations, security, or related areas.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk and incident management.
• Experience with AWS and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Knowledge of DoD, NIST, and security compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT operations and security staff, contractors, and vendors.
• Set priorities for IT operations and security initiatives based on risk.
• Report performance metrics and cybersecurity posture to leadership.
• Support budgeting and lifecycle management of IT assets.
• Provide guidance on new systems, releases, and infrastructure changes.
• Promote a culture of security, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and enforce information security policies and procedures.
• Coordinate security assessments, audits, and evidence collection.
• Oversee vulnerability and patch management, monitoring, and remediation.
• Manage incident response and communications.
