Job summary

USA GPC Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee inbound and/or outbound operations at a center location. You will report to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager and drive safety, efficiency, and strategic execution across teams and processes.

You will lead implementation of operational strategies, manage performance, and foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
• 1+ year’s proven experience in a managerial role and/or leading teams.
• Ability to motivate and inspire a team to contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and proactive approach.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager in implementing operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Manages inbound/outbound operations by setting strategic performance expectations and monitoring productivity.
• Leads inbound operations for efficient freight handling, receiving dock, stocking, housekeeping, and safety protocols.
• Leads truck yard operations for trailers, housekeeping, maintenance, and safety.
• Promotes safety compliance to ensure a safe environment for employees.
• Trains and develops employees to maintain high efficiency and cover gaps as needed.
• Addresses customer and partner inquiries, guiding teams to resolve issues and escalate when necessary.
• Works cross-functionally with DC management to identify and resolve recurring receiving/shipping issues.
• Protects assets by ensuring proper use of equipment, securing facilities, and controlling receipts at handoff.
• Maintains awareness of budget and cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
