Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks an in-house labor and employment counsel to support the HR department and mitigate regulatory risk. The role focuses on advising on wage/hour, leave, accommodations, and employee relations in a multi-jurisdictional environment.

You will draft agreements, respond to audits, and coordinate with leadership to implement compliant policies and procedures, including training modules, while maintaining strong relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school and Utah bar admission.
• Excellent judgment, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Federal government contract and labor law familiarity preferred.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify legal/compliance risks and develop strategies for labor and employment law.
• Provide in-house legal support to HR to minimize disputes and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with HR and leadership on labor matters and regulatory changes.
• Draft and review employment agreements, non-competes, and related documents.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on labor and employment matters.
• Develop staff training on legal topics and write online modules.
