Job summary

Oxy, headquartered in Houston, seeks a Senior HR Business Partner to support the US Onshore Resources and Carbon Management segment. You will provide HR guidance to a broad client base across CO, NM, and TX, balancing employee advocacy with business partnership and aligning people strategies with operational priorities.

You will partner with leaders on workforce planning, staffing, performance management, succession planning, and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related academic field.
• 10+ years of HR generalist or HRBP experience, preferably in operations-heavy environments.
• Strong capability in employee relations, leader coaching, and organizational effectiveness.
• Strong analytical skills with data interpretation to support business needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Experience consulting with line managers and providing candid feedback.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support to a client base across multiple locations in CO, NM, and TX.
• Advise management on effective resolution of employee issues.
• Support health, safety, environment, and security objectives.
• Act as strategic HR advisor to operational leaders aligning people strategies with goals.
• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, staffing, and organizational design.
• Lead talent discussions and support succession planning, performance management, and retention.
• Use HR data to identify trends, assess risks, and improve effectiveness.
• Coach leaders on people management, communication, accountability, and team development.
• Ensure HR practices comply with federal and state laws.
