Job summary

The City of Opa Locka is seeking a Human Resource Risk Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance, risk management, safety, and training programs. This role administers workers’ compensation, liability and property insurance programs, and supports investigations and workforce training.

Under general direction, you will coordinate DOT/CDL compliance, OSHA safety standards, EEOC and ADA obligations, and work closely with legal counsel and insurers to reduce risk

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, DOT).
• Experience developing and managing risk management, safety, and training programs.
• Ability to administer workers’ compensation, insurance, and DOT/CDL compliance.
• Ability to analyze data, produce reports, and lead investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees risk management, safety, compliance, and training programs.
• Administers workers’ compensation and insurance programs; conducts risk assessments.
• Coordinate DOT/CDL compliance and driver qualification reviews.
• Serve as Chair of Accident Review Committee and lead investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with legal, insurers, and regulatory agencies on claims and compliance.
