Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a Senior Category Manager to own end-to-end category strategy for HR Total Rewards and Payroll spend. You will partner with HR, Total Rewards, Payroll Operations, Finance and GC to deliver measurable value and manage supplier risk.

The role is 100% remote from home with an east coast schedule, requiring regular virtual participation and professional video setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or related field required; MBA a plus.
• 10 years of progressive procurement/category management experience.
• Experience sourcing HR/HCM, benefits, payroll, or related services.
• Strong negotiation of large, complex contracts and vendor management.
• Familiarity with HR Total Rewards and Payroll vendor landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for HR Total Rewards and Payroll spend.
• Lead complex sourcing events for benefits carriers and payroll/HRIS platforms.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and SLAs with major providers.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance via scorecards and governance.
• Identify cost savings and efficiencies; track savings targets.
• Partner with HR/Total Rewards and Payroll leadership as procurement partner.
• Assess and mitigate supplier risk including data privacy and compliance.
• Manage contract lifecycle including renewals and amendments.
• Mentor junior category managers/analysts as needed.
