Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Senior Category Manager to own end-to-end category strategy for HR Total Rewards and Payroll spend, partnering with HR, Finance, and Legal to align strategies with business objectives.

The role is remote, allowing work from home anywhere in the United States but requires an east coast schedule and regular virtual collaboration with teams across the organization. Strong leadership and vendor-management experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive procurement/category management experience, with direct HR/HCM, benefits, payroll or related services
• Demonstrated experience negotiating large, complex service contracts
• Strong understanding of HR Total Rewards and Payroll vendor landscape (Workday, Alight, benefits carriers)
• Familiarity with data privacy and compliance considerations for HR/payroll data
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for HR Total Rewards and Payroll spend
• Lead complex sourcing events for benefits carriers, payroll processing/HRIS platforms, and related services
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and SLAs with major providers
• Manage supplier relationships and performance with scorecards and governance
• Identify and deliver cost savings and process efficiencies; track savings targets
• Mentor junior category managers/analysts as needed
