Job summary

New Beginnings Family Academy is seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Manager to lead the HR and payroll functions across the employee lifecycle. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, compliance, and performance management for NBFA staff.

In this role you will ensure employment practices, payroll operations, and personnel records meet federal and Connecticut laws, policies, and bargaining agreements while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years preferred)
• Society of Human Resources Management certificate a plus
• Experience with ADP HRIS system
• Be a strategic thinker who is able to plan, organize, execute, motivate and multi-task
• Maintain the strictest of confidence and the highest standards of professional ethics
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrate committed attention to detail, be self-motivated, and work well across multiple departments and functions
• Ability to solve employee issues sensitively and in strict confidence

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the HR and Payroll Departments, ensuring compliance with laws and policies
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, and employee support for staff
• Manage ADP Workforce Now HRIS and timekeeping, ensuring data integrity
• Prepare employment offers and negotiate compensation within budget
• Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely wage payments and deductions
• Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans
• Coordinate annual performance evaluations and professional development initiatives
• Maintain OSHA logs and ensure OSHA reporting requirements
