Job summary

Covestro in Newark, United States seeks an experienced HR Partner – Labor Relations to act as a strategic HR advisor across multiple sites, focusing on labor relations, policy implementation, and union interactions.

You will collaborate with Global HR, interpret CBAs, lead investigations, and support leadership development while leveraging AI tools to streamline processes and improve employee experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in HR or related field with at least 6 years HR experience.
• Or Master’s in HR with at least 4 years progressive HR experience.
• Minimum of two years of Labor Relations experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Experience with labor contract administration and CBA interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR advice to managers and leadership on people management, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, and organizational actions to ensure alignment with local policies and business objectives.
• Independently assess, manage, and resolve complex employee and labor relations matters, including counseling leadership on gaps and upskilling.
• Partner with Global HR and other functions to deliver integrated talent solutions across multiple sites.
• Assess and advise on training and development needs for leadership and drive upskilling initiatives.
• Serve as second-chair negotiator for US collective bargaining agreements, including bargaining prep and costings.
• Monitor site climate for emerging labor issues and maintain relationships with local union representatives.
• Leverage HR technology, automation, and AI tools to streamline processes and enhance employee experiences.
