Job summary

Nevada State University is seeking an Associate Vice President of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership across HR functions, drive program development, and ensure policy compliance for a diverse campus community.

The AVP-HR reports to the VP of Finance and Business Operations and collaborates with NSHE and university leadership to deliver high-quality HR services, oversee budgets, and advance thoughtful, data-driven HR practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred (HR, business, psychology).
• Seven+ years of HR experience with supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the HR team and oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, training, performance management, labor relations, compensation, and HRIS.
• Coordinate with NSHE and campus leadership to align HR programs with university goals.
• Develop and manage HR budgets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and NSHE policies.
