Job summary

The Tamaroff Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for our automotive dealership group with two Metro Detroit locations and about 225 full-time employees.

You will manage the full employee lifecycle, partner with leadership, and ensure compliant, effective HR practices across both locations. A strong background in employee relations and investigations is required.

Qualifications

• Five+ years HR experience with employee relations, investigations, recruiting and compliance.
• Experience as HR Manager or senior HR Generalist in a multi-location operation.
• Working knowledge of federal and Michigan employment laws.
• Experience supporting hourly, salaried, commissioned and variable compensation employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting, onboarding and offboarding across locations.
• Serve as primary HR resource for employees and managers.
• Conduct objective workplace investigations with documentation.
• Guide managers through performance issues and disciplinary actions.
• Coach managers on policy application and communication.
• Administer benefits, leaves, accommodations and workers’ compensation matters.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws.
• Maintain employee records, HR systems and handbook.
• Oversee performance management and employee development.
• Monitor turnover and workforce trends; propose improvements.
• Improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Coordinate with Payroll Specialist on changes and communications.
