Job summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking an Assistant Human Resources Director to lead and administer major HR programs under the HR Director, acting in their absence. You will provide strategic partnership across departments and direct responsibilities in employee relations, talent acquisition, total rewards, workers' compensation, risk management, and policy administration.

You will support organizational development initiatives, ensure compliance, assist with budgetary planning, and guide day-to-day HR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer major HR programs under the Director's guidance.
• Serve as Acting HR Director in the Director's absence.
• Coordinate talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee relations initiatives.
• Oversee risk management, safety, workers' comp, and leave programs.
• Support budget planning and departmental performance metrics.
