Job summary

Nimble seeks a High School Athletic Director to lead the NV interscholastic program for grades 7-12, guiding strategy, operations, and budget while ensuring sportsmanship and character development within IHSAA guidelines.

The role collaborates with the Elementary Athletic Director to create a seamless K-12 athletic pipeline, coordinates feeder systems, and leads program-level discussions with coaches to drive growth and competitive excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Educational Administration is preferred but not required.
• Valid Indiana Teaching License is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience as HS Athletic Director is preferred but not required.
• A minimum of three (3) years coaching experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, program development, and administration of the interscholastic NV Athletic Program grades 7-12.
• Collaborate with Elementary Athletic Director to create a vertically aligned K-12 athletic pipeline emphasizing skill development, character, participation, growth, sportsmanship and competitive excellence.
• Coordinate feeder system programming to align skill development and expectations across coaches and players.
• Lead semi-annual program-level discussions with NV coaches and report participation trends and growth strategies.
• Do not serve as a head coach or assistant coach unless required due to vacancy or approved by the Superintendent.
• Work with HS Principal to foster a healthy culture and climate of sportsmanship in the school and community.
• Operate under IHSAA rules and North Vermilion Community Schools guidelines.
• Develop a multi-year strategic athletic plan prioritizing academics while defining expectations for student athletes, coaches, and volunteers.
• Administer and supervise all interscholastic athletic programs within relevant rules and policies.
• Create a coaching development system including onboarding, evaluation, professional development, and leadership training.
• Make recommendations for coaching hires and dismissals to the Superintendent and Board.
• Oversee a vertically aligned strength and conditioning program that is sport-specific.
• Coordinate summer camps, winter leagues, and other out-of-season programs.
• Schedule athletic events to optimize experiences for teams year-by-year.
