Strategic Grants Manager – Research Partnerships

Job summary

Dallas County CSCD is seeking a Grant Manager to identify, pursue, secure, and manage grant funding to support programs and strategic priorities. This role builds relationships with universities, research centers, foundations, and community partners to secure diverse funding opportunities.

The position oversees the grant lifecycle from research and proposal development through award administration, compliance, reporting, and closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of grant writing experience within a nonprofit or governmental agency, preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal and state grant guidelines.
• Ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to expand and diversify the department’s grant funding and external financial resources.
• Monitor grant databases, funding announcements, requests for proposals, and other sources to identify new funding opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate the development, preparation, and submission of competitive grant applications, proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership and program staff to develop strong project concepts, objectives, performance measures, implementation plans, and funding requests.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local universities, colleges, research centers, and other academic institutions to pursue research partnerships and joint grant opportunities.
• Coordinate grant budgets and financial requirements with appropriate fiscal and administrative staff.
• Maintain a centralized system for tracking prospective grants, applications, awards, deadlines, reporting requirements, expenditures, performance measures, and grant closeouts.
