Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public relations, communications, or related field.
• Advanced degree in public policy, law, government or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in government relations or public policy.
• Strong network of contacts within government and industry required.
• Knowledge of government relations in healthcare space preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify priorities with the senior leadership and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy.
• Monitor policy issues and opportunities affecting the system's profile and objectives.
• Engage with elected officials and committees at state, county, and municipal levels.
• Organize meetings, hearings, and events with government representatives.
• Manage Chamber memberships and facilitate information sharing with system leaders.
• Engage in chamber events to reinforce the system's community leadership role.
• Develop relationships with industry coalitions and advocacy groups.
• Educate internal audiences on legislative issues at federal, state, and local levels.
• Develop high-quality written policy materials and statements for the record.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on public policy matters.
• Ensure compliance with lobbying laws and maintain confidentiality.
