Job summary

The State of Missouri's Department of Public Safety seeks a senior budget analyst to help create and communicate the annual budget, monitor expenditures, and oversee grant revenues and payroll processes within the Office of the Director.

You will manage accounting and procurement staff, coordinate with divisions and state agencies, and prepare financial reports, FFRs, and quarterly reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GASB and government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant government budgeting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GASB principles and federal funding mechanisms.
• Proficiency with Excel, SAM II Financial, and grant management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budget and expenditures; coordinate with divisions and budget staff.
• Serve as Budget Director in absence.
• Provide fiscal notes to Legislative Research.
• Prepare annual DPS budget and related reports.
