Qualifications

• 2–5 years in legislative, lobbying, government, political, advocacy or public affairs work.
• Experience with the Texas Legislature strongly preferred, including staff, committees or lobbying.
• Strong understanding of the Texas legislative process and interim activity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Sound judgment and discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Support legislative and regulatory strategies on behalf of clients.
• Monitor bills, amendments, hearings, calendars, and agency activity.
• Meet with legislators, staff, agency officials, and stakeholders.
• Draft testimony, bill language, amendments, talking points, policy briefs, and client updates.
• Coordinate meetings, briefings, and Capitol visits as a day-to-day contact.
• Research legislative, regulatory, and political developments affecting clients.
• Maintain records of lobbying activity and ensure Texas Ethics Commission compliance.
• Support firm-wide client matters and business development efforts.
