Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist to support large EPC projects by managing cradle-to-grave procurement of goods and services, negotiating terms, driving cost reductions, and coordinating with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure timely material flow.

Under general direction, you will develop category strategies, track market drivers, resolve delivery or quality issues, and foster long-term supplier partnerships while ensuring alignment with project

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management or Business and 6+ years procurement experience.
• Experience in bid/evaluate/award cycles and contract execution.
• Proven track record in cost reduction programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with E-procurement tools (e-bidding/e-auctions).
• Ability to work in a complex schedule-driven environment.
• Strong analytical skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience in lump-sum procurement environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute cradle-to-grave purchasing for a commodity group or Project.
• Negotiate favorable terms, discounts and long-term contracts.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives for a Project or Category.
• Track cost drivers and market factors for the category.
• Develop category sourcing strategies aligned with objectives.
• Identify actions for quality or schedule issues with suppliers.
• Work with Engineering and project management teams.
• Close out procurement operations including settlements of claims.
• Participate in important negotiations and claims for procurement scope.
