Job summary

UCSF is seeking a Director of Gift and Endowment Planning to lead sophisticated gift structuring and strategic donor engagement. You will manage a high-capacity donor portfolio, partner with frontline fundraising teams, and structure complex planned and blended gifts to support UCSF priorities.

Reporting to UDAR leadership, this role offers autonomy and collaboration with faculty, hospital leaders, and legal/financial advisors within a flexible hybrid model across UCSF’s health system and

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of gift planning, fundraising, and donor relations concepts.
• 3-5 years of direct gift planning experience in higher education or health center.
• Strong command of legal, financial, tax, and estate planning principles for gifts.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio management: maintain active gift planning prospects and high-capacity donors.
• Marketing and outreach: develop tailored plans for major gifts and gift planning prospects.
• Collaborative development: co-solicit, structure, document, and steward complex gifts.
• Team collaboration: participate in UDAR planning, governance, and reporting.
• Other duties: support institutional advancement priorities and campaigns.
