Job summary

LMI is seeking an Operations Research Systems Analyst to work onsite at Scott AFB in Illinois. You will support USTRANSCOM GBFMD, lead strategic coordination of bulk fuel logistics, and align operations with combatant command plans.

The role requires DoD SECRET clearance eligibility, a quantitative degree, and strong skills in SQL, Tableau, Excel, Python, and GIS. Travel ~10% and a focus on data-driven decision making are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
Proven experience in Operations Research, systems analysis, data analytics, or military logistics modeling.
Strong proficiency with SQL, Tableau, Excel, Qlik, Databricks, Maven Smart Systems; programming languages such as Python, R, GIS, MATLAB, CPLEX.
Understanding of Combatant Command OPLANs and DoD bulk fuel/logistics operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operational Readiness Analysis: analyze and model reports on worldwide operations and combatant command plans to identify requirements and resolve issues.
Modeling & Simulation: apply OR techniques to assess and optimize GBFMD capabilities during assessments, wargaming, and exercises.
Strategic Alignment: ensure alignment of objectives with logistical capabilities; provide data-driven COAs to senior leaders.
Methodology Development: develop advanced modeling techniques using mathematical and statistical methods.
Technical Reporting: write clear reports documenting data analysis, tool design, and test results.
Subject Matter Expertise: provide ORSA support and advisory to studies, conferences, exercises, and contingency events.
