Job summary

Morton Salt, Inc. is seeking a Category Analyst to plan, source, and negotiate transportation services within the package truck and intermodal categories, aiming for the lowest total cost to serve while meeting carrier KPIs and SLAs.

You will prepare data for RFIs/RFPs, develop category strategies, manage supplier performance, and provide freight cost estimates for new business, supporting network optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
• 5 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or project management.
• Experience with SAP, WMS, or TMS and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Procure and execute the company’s package transport business.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to respond to forecast changes in real time.
• Review freight bills and perform root-cause analysis for discrepancies.
• Monitor supplier performance and cost using KPIs and metrics.
• Prepare RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs and negotiate with providers.
• Travel approximately 15% annually.
