Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Associate Director, TOPS Finance to partner with Technical Development and Global Quality. Lead planning, reporting, and executive-level financial storytelling to guide portfolio decisions.

You will build models, forecast scenarios, and KPI dashboards, translating spend and headcount into compelling business cases for senior leadership while driving process improvements across FP&A and controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive finance/FP&A experience in biotech/pharma or similar complex multinationals.
• Strategic support for operating plans, forecasts, long-range plans, and business cases.
• Strong technical finance skills: modeling, variance analysis, KPI development, and investment evaluation.
• Knowledge of financial planning, internal controls, and link between operations and accounting.
• Advanced Excel & PowerPoint; enterprise systems experience (Oracle, Hyperion, SAP, Anaplan, SAC, Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary finance business partner for Technical Development and Quality leadership; provide financial analysis and recommendations.
• Lead annual operating plan, forecast, and long-range planning for supported functions; align with business priorities.
• Develop executive-ready financial materials (variance analysis, forecast bridges, investment cases, risk assessments).
• Partner with leaders to translate spend, headcount, capital, and project timelines into forecasts.
• Build/maintain financial models, scenario analyses, and KPIs to evaluate options and investments.
• Provide financial oversight for Opex, capex, headcount, allocations, and project spend; ensure internal controls.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, HR, Program Management, and Quality to ensure accurate actuals and timely forecasts.
• Identify and implement FP&A process/reporting improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.
