Strategic FP&A Director, Investments & Compensation

Job summary

JCW Group is partnering with a well-established investment firm in New York City to hire a Director of FP&A. This role combines financial planning and analysis of investments with ownership of compensation analysis, working closely with senior leadership on strategic decisions.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and profitability analysis, while building models, dashboards, and KPI reporting for executives and partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of FP&A experience, ideally within asset management, wealth management, or an RIA.
• Deep experience with compensation analysis and modeling in a financial services setting.
• Strong understanding of investment economics, AUM-based revenue models, and fee structures.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; Adaptive / Anaplan / BI tools a plus.
• CFA, CPA, or MBA preferred.
• Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and translating data into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across the firm and its investment activities.
• Analyze investment performance, returns, and revenue drivers to support strategic and capital allocation decisions.
• Own compensation analysis and modeling, including advisor and investment team comp structures, incentive and bonus plans, and benchmarking.
• Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and KPI reporting for executive leadership and partners.
• Deliver variance analysis and insight on firm profitability, AUM trends, and fee revenue.
• Partner with finance, investment, and HR teams internally.
