Job summary

Family Dollar seeks a Financial Planning Analyst to connect Merchandising financial plans to the company budget and P&L process at the Chesapeake Store Support Center. You will partner with Merchandising, Category Merchants and Leadership to forecast with high accuracy and drive profitability.

The role requires collaboration with Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting, leveraging BI tools and robust financial modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Retail/merchandising or planner experience preferred with supply chain familiarity.
• Strong ability to read and analyze financial reports.
• Proficient Excel; familiarity with BI/visualization tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including executive presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting with driver-based targets.
• Provide focused reporting and KPI analysis.
• Translate merchandising financial plans to Budget and P&L processes.
• Liaise with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations.
• Review forecasts and outline risks and opportunities; suggest actions.
• Build and maintain financial reporting for Merchandising & Planning teams.
• Create/update financial models and perform ad hoc data inquiries.
• Provide financial analysis and decision support for leadership.
• Produce monthly and quarterly reporting materials.
• Automate and enhance reporting and KPIs for clarity and impact.
• Work with BI tools to extract data with BI team.
