Job summary

WorkWave is seeking a Strategic Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. This role sits at the table with the ELT and key stakeholders, translating financial data into insights that shape decisions.

You’ll own planning, forecasting, and performance conversations, acting as a trusted advisor to challenge assumptions and surface risks and opportunities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• 3-6 years of FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or related analytical experience.
• Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing senior leaders (VP-level+).
• Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel/Google Sheets; building models from scratch.
• Experience with FP&A or BI tools (Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Strong SQL or data manipulation skills are a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills translating financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
• A natural business partner: curious, proactive, and able to push back when data disagrees.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner for one or more business units, building trusted relationships with ELT and senior stakeholders.
• Own annual budget, monthly forecast, and long-range planning; ensure accuracy and alignment with goals.
• Analyze monthly/quarterly results vs budget/forecast; translate drivers of variance into narratives.
• Partner on strategic initiatives—pricing, headcount, investments, product launches—build models and business cases.
• Prepare board-ready and ELT-ready materials, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc analyses.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities; proactively bring recommendations.
• Continuously improve forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and FP&A tools/systems.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Sales, Operations to ensure data consistency.
