Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for the Care Delivery organization in Draper, UT. You will partner with technology and finance leaders to manage IT operating expenses, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, delivering actionable insights and executive-ready financial commentary.

You will support capital planning, vendor spend, and cost-control initiatives while communicating complex data clearly and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required.
• 2+ years in financial analysis, FP&A, budgeting, or forecasting.
• Experience supporting operating expense budgets and variance analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly and annual IT operating expense forecasts across cost centers and West Region markets.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods; explain variances.
• Maintain financial models and spend projections for software, infrastructure, and technology services.
• Partner with IT and finance leaders to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Track spending trends and provide proactive recommendations to stay within targets.
• Support month-end close, accruals, and cost-center management for accurate reporting.
• Collaborate on vendor spend analysis, contract reviews, and invoice issues.
• Provide capital planning support and monitor project funding and performance.
• Prepare executive presentations and dashboards for recurring business reviews.
• Develop and enhance reporting tools and forecasting models using Excel, Essbase, and Power BI.
