Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director, Strategic Forecasting Insights, to develop strategic forecasts for products and indications, interpreting implications and communicating insights to guide marketing strategy. The role collaborates with Digital Human Health, Market Research, Data Science, Payer Analytics, and finance across a matrixed organization in the US and India.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of delivering complex analytical projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry using market research and/or large patient or physician databases.
• Experience in developing forecast models and/or related analytics (e.g., scenario analysis, business case development).
• Experience working in highly cross-functional, matrixed teams with empathy and collaboration.
• Experience leading varied groups and navigating ambiguity.
• Strong problem-solving, data-oriented analytics, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine forecast modeling approaches, tools, and techniques for asset(s) and indication(s).
• Partner with Marketing Engagement, Market Research, Data Science, Payer Analytics, and other DHH functions to develop insights strategies for forecasting.
• Develop and deliver forecasts and insights for forecasting cycles with a matrixed team across US and India.
• Monitor actual performance vs forecast and explain drivers to the business.
• Engage with Marketing, Market Access, and Finance to align on inputs, outputs, and insights for each cycle.
• Provide a range of forecasting capabilities to address business strategy and decision-making.
• Collaborate across large teams to operate as One Team and ensure stakeholders are aligned.
• Communicate forecasting process, inputs, insights clearly to business partners.
• Enable interconnected problem-solving with DHH colleagues and business partners.
• Be a thought leader and strategic partner through trusted relationships.
• Understand stakeholders' priorities and develop forecasting-related solutions with commercialization teams.
