Job summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis team at the University of Notre Dame invites a Financial Analyst to turn complex financial data into clear insights that guide campus leaders. You will participate in executive reporting, budgeting, and multiyear forecasting, collaborating with partners across the University to steward resources effectively.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll build models, prepare analyses, and present findings in executive-ready formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical judgment and financial modeling skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently from defined objectives, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of assignments.
• Clear written and verbal communication, translating complex financial and operational information into concise insights and recommendations.
• Collaborative, service-oriented approach and interpersonal skills to work with colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve executive financial reports and dashboards covering key indicators and headcount, reserves, endowment metrics, and more.
• Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses for multiyear financial plans and risk assessment.
• Provide analytical and technical support for strategic, financial, and operational projects.
• Partner with campus business managers and Finance colleagues to evaluate initiatives and provide financial guidance and decision support.
• Assist with budget strategy, annual input, forecasts, projections, and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Maintain comparative financial datasets and analyze Notre Dame relative to peer institutions.
• Contribute to campus committees and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
