Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the corporate finance team in California. The role partners with stakeholders to plan and analyze company-wide financials and property-level performance, building budgets, forecasts and metrics for executive and investor reporting.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years in a related field, strong SQL and BI tool experience, and a solid grasp of GAAP and SOX controls. Real estate/REIT experience and CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Real estate/REIT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL, data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and automated reports from large datasets.
• CPA preferred.
• Basic understanding of GAAP accounting and financial statements.
• Basic understanding of SOX compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Examine, analyze, and interpret internal operational data to create monthly, quarterly, and annual performance metrics.
• Prepare materials for public reporting and investor communications, including SEC filings and earnings materials.
• Perform ad hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making with trend analysis and scenario modeling.
• Develop and maintain dashboards using BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI) and automate reports from large datasets.
• Extract and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends and actionable insights.
