Job summary

The City of Detroit is seeking a Financial Analyst III to join the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. This role conducts complex financial analyses, prepares detailed reports, and supports multi-year budgeting and forecasting within ERP Cloud environments.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree with accounting/finance coursework and at least three years of budgeting/financial analysis experience, with strong Excel and analytic skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 24 credits in accounting, finance, or economics.
• At least three (3) years of professional budgeting/financial analysis experience.
• Experience with ERP Cloud and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex financial analyses and provide recommendations.
• Prepare budget-to-actual analyses across multiple years.
• Develop forecasts and support month-end close processes.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc financial and operational reports.
