NC State University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department seeks a Manager for Business and Financial Operations. The role serves as a key financial advisor to the Department Head, guiding multi-year planning, resource allocation, and sustainability across revenue streams.

You will lead the department’s financial health, oversee a transactional team, and deliver strategic insights to support university guidance and departmental priorities.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field with 12 accounting credit hours and at least three years of professional accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
• Senior-level financial management, budgeting, and fiscal analysis experience in a complex university setting.
• Direct supervisory experience over fiscal, accounting, or administrative staff, including performance management and workload balancing.
• Ability to build complex 3-5 year financial models using advanced spreadsheet or enterprise modeling tools.
• Deep knowledge of State, F&A, Trust, Endowment, Service Center, and Federal grant fund rules within higher education.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented consulting approach with judgment to identify risks and alternatives.
• Experience with ERP financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle) and reporting tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with non-financial stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain dynamic 3-5 year financial models for all departmental revenue streams.
• Conduct What-If analyses for faculty hiring plans, startup packages, and space expansion projects.
• Provide data-backed recommendations on spending, cost-savings, or revenue generation.
• Oversee departmental position management and annual budget construction.
• Deliver executive-level financial reports and variance analyses to leadership.
• Partner with HR Strategy Partner and RA Hub Managers to ensure funded, aligned strategies.
