Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC seeks an Assistant Director and Financial Operations Supervisor to lead a centralized financial operations team handling AP, AR, travel, and procurement card activities.

Reporting to the Director of CALS Business Services, you will oversee compliance, implement internal controls, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting across multiple funded programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field with 12 accounting credits and 3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Supervisory experience and ability to manage staff and set priorities.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and related financial policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, performance management, coaching, and professional development for financial operations staff.
• Oversee high-risk and complex financial transactions to ensure accurate accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Interpret and apply University, State, Federal, and Sponsored Program regulations (USDA NIFA, Hatch, Hatch Multistate, Smith-Lever).
• Collaborate with the Director to implement Business Services priorities and improve processes.
