Job summary

The University of Toledo Foundation is seeking a Senior Director of Finance & Strategic Operations to lead financial planning, performance measurement, and enterprise initiatives across the organization. The role partners with the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer to translate priorities into actionable plans, strengthen reporting, and drive governance, risk management, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning and analysis, finance, accounting, operations, strategy, or related area.
• Experience in a university foundation, higher education, nonprofit organization, or other complex mission-driven environment preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, scenario analysis, management reporting, and business-case development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Foundation's budgeting processes (operating and capital) with department leaders and senior management.
• Develop multiyear financial forecasts and scenarios to support strategic priorities and sustainability.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reporting, forecasts, variance analysis, and management commentary.
• Create financial models and business cases for programs, investments, real estate, and auxiliary operations.
• Maintain cash flow and liquidity forecasts; support treasury and capital decisions.
• Coordinate enterprise performance reporting across finance, real estate, advancement, and other functions.
• Translate strategic priorities into defined project plans and manage cross-functional initiatives.
• Support governance, risk management, and internal controls improvements across the organization.
