Job summary

Collier County seeks a seasoned finance leader to manage the financial and business operations of the Public Utilities Department. The role directs budgeting, planning, accounting, procurement, and contracts, ensuring fiscal accountability and optimal resource use.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, developing operating and capital budgets, supporting audits, and delivering timely financial insights to department leadership to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required and four additional years of related experience may substitute, if needed.
• Five years of related experience preferred; candidates without a degree should possess four extra years of experience.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, financial planning and analysis for the Public Utilities Department.
• Direct accounting, procurement, contract administration, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Lead budget development for operating, capital and revenue streams with senior staff and managers.
• Provide financial leadership to support department goals and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Clerk’s office and Budget Office for audits, CAFR and annual reporting.
• Ensure timely processing of financial transactions and standardize analytical tools and dashboards.
