Job summary

Planetree is seeking a Finance Manager / Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including the general ledger, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and policy controls. You will supervise the Finance Accountant/Coordinator and coordinate with external partners to ensure audit readiness and compliance.

The role provides financial analysis and guidance to leadership, supports reporting for grants and restricted funds, and translates

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, AP/AR oversight, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Nonprofit, multi-entity, or international experience; two or more years supervising staff or external providers.
• English proficiency with strong knowledge of accounting principles and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance function, close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Oversee internal controls, audit readiness, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and banking relationships.
• Supervise the Finance Accountant/Coordinator and ensure timely financial data delivery.
