Austin Sensing Company is seeking a Finance Lead to own financial planning from budgets to capital allocation and daily finance operations in Austin, TX. You will work directly with the founders on budgets, projections, and fundraising decisions behind hiring and production.

The role requires building detailed financial models, understanding what drives numbers, and turning analysis into clear, strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of finance experience including investment banking, private equity, or similar analytical roles.
• Experience owning finance responsibilities inside a company with budgets, cash, or operating performance.
• Strong experience building financial models, projections, and scenario analyses, linking income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Sound judgment on spending, financing, and growth tradeoffs.
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
• Adaptability with incomplete information and changing assumptions.
• Detail-oriented with ability to handle strategic and daily tasks.

Responsabilités

• Own the company’s financial models, budgets, projections, and cash forecasts.
• Build revenue, expense, headcount, and capex projections and model growth scenarios.
• Track spending, burn, and runway; explain variances and adjust plans.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to understand product costs and margins.
• Evaluate hiring plans, equipment purchases, financing options and capital uses.
• Manage banking relationships, cash balances, and equipment financing.
• Coordinate with external accountants on monthly close, payroll, and tax filings.
• Build financial reporting for founders, board, and investors.
• Support fundraising with financial models, projections, and investor materials.
• Establish budgeting, purchasing approvals, expense management, and collections processes.
