About Atticus

At any given time, 16 million Americans are experiencing a crisis that requires urgent help from our legal system or government. The right assistance could transform their lives. But today, most never get it.

Atticus makes it easy for any sick or injured person in crisis to get the life-changing aid they deserve. In the last 6 years, we’ve become the leading platform connecting people with disabilities to government benefits. We also help victims of accidents, misconduct, and violence get compensation from insurance. So far, we’ve helped thousands access over $4B in aid, and we’re just getting started.

We’ve assisted more than 110,000 people (see our 13,000+ five-star reviews) and raised over $100 million from top VC firms like Fika, Forerunner, GV, and True Ventures. Having closed our Series C in April 2025, we are well-funded. Our team grew from 89 to over 151 last year, and we anticipate further growth in 2025.

The Job

Over the next two years, our goal is to help over 250,000 Americans access life-changing benefits across Disability, Worker's Compensation, and Personal Injury cases. To achieve this, we need to raise over $100MM in asset-backed capital, deploy our Series C round effectively, and refine our unit economics. As a strategic finance lead, you’ll be pivotal in this process, with a significant role in shaping our company's strategy due to the complex nature of our business model and finance function.

You’ll report directly to the VP of Finance and collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop financial plans and guide investments. Your work will be diverse and challenging, involving analysis of marketing strategies, legal field LTVs, and payment data workflows to drive financial outcomes.

If you aspire to a career path towards becoming a CFO, founder, or investor, this role offers a unique opportunity.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of investment banking experience (Top third of class)
  • 2+ years of startup or growth equity experience
  • Experience managing all workstreams in a completed financial transaction (e.g., M&A, capital raise)
  • Mastery of financial statements
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and limited data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We are committed to diversity and inclusion. If you come from an underrepresented background in tech, we would love to meet you.

Salary and Benefits

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-funded startup with strong traction and growth, where your impact will be significant. We are a B Corporation dedicated to social impact, and your work will touch many lives.

  • Competitive pay including equity
  • Medical and dental insurance (100% covered premiums)
  • 15 vacation days and ~19 paid holidays annually
  • Free OneMedical membership
  • $600/year internet stipend
  • $1,000/year education stipend
  • Up to $1,200/year student loan repayment
  • 401(k) and HSA/FSA options
  • Collaborative, thoughtful colleagues

Estimated salary range: $140,000 - $160,000, depending on experience and internal equity.

Location

This role is fully remote with flexibility. Live anywhere, work remotely, and travel to LA as needed (quarterly to yearly). We value in-person interactions for retreats and gatherings.
