Job summary

The State of Utah is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to serve as a key connector between state agencies and enterprise ERP systems. You will oversee the financial ERP (Vantage CGI Advantage), drive process improvements, and ensure accurate GASB-compliant reporting across funds.

You will train agencies, coordinate with auditors, and translate statutory requirements into practical accounting practices in a hybrid in-state role. A CPA or advanced credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with substantial coursework.
• Professional accounting experience in general ledger operations, financial reporting, and standards.
• Experience researching complex financial issues, analyzing transactions, and building workable procedures.
• Curiosity to challenge traditional approaches and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• ERP Systems Management & Troubleshooting for Utah's financial ERP system (Vantage CGA) including UAT.
• Lead process automation to reduce manual workflows and modernize financial processes.
• Act as liaison between agencies, leadership, and ERP teams; advise accountants and deliver training.
• Manage governmental fund accounting and prepare disclosures under GASB standards.
• Assist with ACFR preparation, year-end adjustments, and liaise with external auditors.
• Evaluate financial legislation for reporting impact and translate accordingly.
• Contribute to statewide accounting policy development and governance.
