Job summary

Blue Ridge Automation is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to be the senior financial leader reporting to the CEO. This hands-on operator will manage the books and close process today while building scalable systems for growth.

The role covers GAAP compliance, project-based revenue, budgeting, KPI reporting, and partnering with leadership to translate numbers into strategic guidance. A fast-paced environment and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Admin.
• 7–10 years progressive accounting/finance experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in service-based, project-driven environments.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• CPA preferred; experience in industrial automation is a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and reporting improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly/quarterly/year-end close processes on schedule.
• Analyze variances and communicate to leadership clearly.
• Develop and improve reporting packages for executives.
• Coordinate tax compliance, audits, and external reviews.
• Oversee project-based revenue recognition and WIP reporting.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relations.
• Build KPI dashboards and strategic financial models.
